In my experience, senior dogs tend to be chilled out and a bit slower than young dogs. Not Otis (or Oti as he’s often called) – he’s an old boy but has the energy of a puppy. Oti’s mum has had him since she was ten years old, and he’s lived an adventurous life, having lived in both the Gold Coast and Tauranga before settling in Wellington, New Zealand.
Wellington turned on the charm weather wise (a rare occurrence), so we headed to the park for some shots, where Otis had a great time ruining his mum’s grooming. So it was home for a quick bath before he finally fell asleep on his bean bag.
Photographing senior pets is always such an honour, it makes me so happy to know that their owners will have beautiful photos for years to come. I’m currently taking bookings for spring/summer in Melbourne and expressions of interest for summer sessions in New Zealand.
